03.08.2007
CHAC Gallery presents VIDA, Art full of LIFE! Denver, March 7, 2007 – The Chicano Humanities & Arts Council (CHAC) is showcasing 9 member artists in a spring show entitled VIDA. This group show centers around the rich theme of living – religion, exploration, happiness, beauty, pain and even thoughts of the afterlife in oils, acrylic, watercolor, fabric and stone. The nine CHAC members included in the show each provide a fresh breathe of life into this spring time event. Meggan DeAnza's work explores the themes of santos, calaveras, crosses, and mother and child, Derek Cadena's art uses bunnies, flowers, and skulls in several mediums and styles to express his current state, Rebecca Romero explores the many themes of love at Easter and inspired by the works of ancient cultures, Michael Penny recreates the high artistry of ancient civilizations in stone. The show also includes the work of Suzanne Sigona, the often lighthearted and inspired work of Paul Potts and Steve Rozic's life affirming use of bold, beautiful color. The subtle Colorado inspired brushwork of Dan Muniz and the vibrant mixed media work of Antonia Florese round out this right ensemble of creative spirits. VIDA will run for the entire month of April at CHAC Gallery, 772 Santa Fe Drive.
