Artists – want your voices heard and your work seen during the Democratic National Convention?
Join us for the second outing of Boom, the nomadic gallery that made it’s first dramatic appearance during the grand opening of the DAM! www.boomdenver.com All prospective artists will be juried, but there is no limit to the number of artists accepted. More artists equals more trucks! We’ll be creating our galleries in the back of trucks as before, so to be a part of Boom you must be committed and reliable. Although we will be looking for sponsorship & donations, each artist must be willing to commit a minimum of 20 hours to build & sit the truck(s), and potentially up to $200 to pay for trucks & materials. (We expect the total amount to be much less, and we WILL be looking for sponsorship and donations – the number is a “worst case scenario” to complete the project, which will benefit all involved.) In exchange for the above commitments, your work will be seen by thousands visiting our city from all over the country in a non-censored, free to the public mobile show! Our visitor estimate for the last Boom was over 5000 visitors – where else in Denver can you have that many people see your work? Interested? Send a maximum of 3 .jpgs (72 dpi and no larger than 1920 pixels in any direction) to: boomdenver@yahoo.com before Aug. 1 along with your name, contact information, and statement of interest. If you have a website, please include a link. We will contact you by Aug. 8 to inform you of your acceptance.

CHAC Gallery congratulates Joe N. Martinez as our First Friday Favorite.
Joe pulled away from the competition with his amazing photograph taken of “El Santuario De Chimayo”. El Santuario is located in Chimayo, New Mexico. It is known as a place to pray, meditate, and to experience peace of mind and body. Joe is a native of Colorado and resides in North Denver. He is a self taught photographer that takes it “One day at a Time”. His photography is based mainly of the Colorado and New Mexico landscapes. Joe feels taking photos is his therapy. “It’s a feeling of serenity and calming of my mind, it’s just me and my camera”. Every photo I take is of a moment in time, and that moment will never happen again. Joes biggest inspiration are his mother (Bert) and his brother (Mark) even though the have past on to the heavens too be with God.
